This project was an opportunity to pitch a creative direction to the English band Babybird (or Baby Bird), actually the solo singer/songwriter Stephen Jones as a way to reinforce his later-career releases. I’ve spent a lot of my life around music and musicians., designing album covers and brands for local bands in the late 90’s and early 00’s and this artist has been a personal favourite for 35 years now, so the chance to create something he would at least consider was meaningful for me.
He was not a fan of any of the options presented, which was heartbreaking. However, the opportunity and the work itself was rewarding and I still believe it delivers a resonant and complimentary aesthetic to his music.
